Apple Health

Steps, heart rate, sleep, and workouts.

What it does

Apple Health provides daily health metrics that show up in your digests and morning briefings. Steps, heart rate, sleep duration, workouts, and more — all synced automatically from your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Setup

1

Install Sumi

Apple Health data is synced via Sumi, the Patina iOS companion app. Install it from TestFlight.

2

Grant Health access

When Sumi asks for Apple Health permissions, grant access to the metrics you want tracked (steps, heart rate, sleep, workouts, etc.).

3

Automatic from here

Sumi syncs HealthKit data daily into health/YYYY-MM-DD.md files in your repo. Your /digest and /morning skills pick up the data automatically.

How it works

Sumi reads HealthKit data on your iPhone and commits daily health summaries to your Patina repo via the GitHub API. Each day gets its own file with metrics from that day. No health data leaves your device except through your own git repo.
